Modem Port In Use
Potential Causes: 
- Fax or other communication software is running in the background.
	
	- Select the Application Menu.  Make sure only Finder is running.
	
 - If another application is running:  Switch to it andselect File and 
	Quit.
	
 
 - A communication application may be loading at startup.
	
	- Check the Startup Items to see if any communication software loads 
	at startup.
	
 - Remove alias from the Startup Items folder
	
 
 - Modem may not have released the previous port.
	
	- Turn Modem off and on if external.  If internal shutdown system and 
	restart.
	
 
 - A communications extensions conflict.
	
	- Open Extensions Manager or the Extensions folder. Look for 
	extensions like Fax Manager or Global Fax.
	
 - Create a custom set of extensions using Extensions Manager.
	
 - If Extensions Manager is not available, move extensions to 
	Extensions (Disabled) folder.
