In Telnet
- Open a telnet session and log on.
 - Type in "ping <web site>"
 - Hit the Enter key.
 - Your response should look like this if there was a problem pinging the site.
 PING www.microsoft.com (207.46.130.150): 56 data bytes
Request timed out
If you hold down the <Ctrl> key and hit the <c> key you will receive a reponse like this:
--- www.microsoft.com ping statistics --- 49 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100% packet loss
Using a command prompt
- Click on <Start><Run>
 - In the Open field type in "ping <web address>"
 - Hit the Enter key.
 - If you receive the message "Request timed out" there is a problem in getting to the site.
