"IE cannot open Internet site http://www...., the connection was reset."

Summary: Either they are not connected at the time, or it is a possible problem with the wsock32.dll file.

Resolution

First make sure that the customer is connected to the Internet.
In the bottom right hand corner of the screen by the clock there should be one of two icons if they are connected. It will either look like two small computers with a line that goes between them, or like a small black box with lights that flash from red to green.
If they are not connected have them connect with the CiNet icon in the Dial-Up Networking Window and have them try again.
If they are connected and are getting the error message it is probably a problem with the wsock32.dll file.
There may be a few things wrong at this point. There may be multiple wsock32.dll files, the file may be the wrong size, or it may be in the wrong location.
- If the file is the wrong size rename the file and then extract a new wsock32.dll file.
- If the file is missing extract a new wsock32.dll file.
- If there are multiple wsock32.dll files in the Windows\System directory remove all but one of them.
